Help clients identify themselves digitally and share only the data you need. Digital credentials let you check where the data comes from and use it in your client files, with fewer copies and less manual work.
Discuss your client workflow“With the new Grub e-Verification feature, financial service providers no longer need to ask their clients for a copy of their ID.”
A client relationship starts with knowing who you are dealing with. When clients send copies and re-enter information, staff need to check it and add it to the file. Missing information or an unclear source leads to further questions. This takes time for both your firm and your client and can delay the start of the service.
Digital credentials let clients share data that an identifiable issuer has already confirmed. They do this through a wallet: an app in which they store credentials and from which they share data. Your firm can digitally check who issued a credential and whether its contents are unchanged. Connected software can then add the data to the client file. This reduces requests for copies and retyping, while your firm continues to assess the client relationship.
Your clients can share the required identity data digitally at a time that suits them. This reduces the need to collect and send documents and makes the first steps with your firm easier.
Your firm can assess client information with a clear view of its source. Digital verification lets you check who issued the credential and whether its contents are unchanged. Staff therefore have less need to piece together its origin from separate documents.
With a suitable digital credential, your client can share the requested data without sending a full copy of a document. The client sees what is being requested and decides whether to share it. Your firm receives less unnecessary personal data.
Your firm decides which sources and credentials are suitable for client due diligence. Technical validity does not automatically confirm that the source data is correct.
Processing in your firm’s software and checks for validity and revocation depend on the chosen credential and integration.
Digital credentials can help establish identity and authority to act. Which use cases are possible depends on available credentials, wallets, system integrations and agreements on use.
From your connected software, you invite a client to share the required identity data through a wallet. The verified data is returned to the client file, where your staff continue their due diligence and assess whether to accept the client.
A contact person can identify themselves digitally. If an authorised source also issues a digital credential confirming their role or mandate, you can check which business they may represent and which actions they are authorised to take. Identity and authority are assessed separately.
With the Ver.iD platform, you can add wallet verification to software for client due diligence. The platform handles the exchange with wallets, technical verification and the associated key and certificate management. The connected software receives the shared data and verification result.
With our guidance, you define which data is needed, which sources you accept and how to handle missing data. Your team or software provider handles the integration and processing in the client file. Your firm decides who may access the data, how long it is retained and when new information is needed, and assesses the client relationship.
In Grub, verified data is returned to the client file so staff can continue their assessment there. The digital route fits into the existing workflow. Grub also offers manual submission for clients who do not use a wallet.
